Weekend workshop with Gio Ravelo

Danceworks Helsinki is offering the opportunity to work with ​Colombian choreographer Gio Ravelo in two-day workshop on May 3rd-4th.

Gio Ravelo, renowned for his experimental style and nuanced storytelling, has a rich background in dance. He began his career with the Ballet Nacional de Sonia Osorio in Colombia and later became a principal dancer with Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo, where he performed from 2008 to 2021. He has been a guest artist with Northeast Youth Ballet, Contrast Dance Theater, and Les Ballets Grandiva. Ravelo has choreographed several ballets for companies like Roxy Ballet, Ballet de Barcelona and more. 

Narcisa delves into themes of self-perception, vanity, vulnerability, and self-discovery, reflecting Ravelo's commitment to exploring identity through dance.

This workshop is a unique opportunity to engage with Ravelo's distinctive approach to ballet and choreography, offering dancers the opportunity to learn and perform excerpts from the upcoming premiere of Narcisa.​

The workshop is open for everyone with a minimum of 2 years of ballet classes.
